Ayurveda Workshop
The Ayurveda workshop offered children a rich and engaging introduction to holistic living by blending storytelling, science, and practical activities. The journey began with the fascinating story of Samudra Manthan, where children learned how the Devas and Asuras churned the ocean to obtain Amrita, guided by Lord Vishnu, and how Lord Dhanvantari emerged as the divine healer. This story set the foundation for understanding Ayurveda as an ancient system rooted in balance and well-being. Building on this, children explored the concept of the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—and discovered how these natural elements shape individual body types (Prakriti). Through interactive activities, including animal associations and group discussions, they began to recognize their own tendencies and the importance of maintaining balance for a healthy body and mind. The workshop also emphasized practical lifestyle habits, especially around food and movement. Children learned mindful eating practices—such as eating with focus and awareness—and understood the significance of different tastes (rasa) in digestion and health. They were introduced to incompatible food combinations (Viruddha Ahara) and how simple choices can impact well-being. Alongside this, yoga asanas and elemental mudras were taught to help children connect with their bodies. They discovered how each finger represents a natural element and how simple hand gestures can help balance internal energies. Basic knowledge of body systems, including glands and hormones, further helped them see the connection between traditional practices and modern understanding of the body. Through shloka chanting, games, and interactive quizzes, the workshop ensured that learning remained joyful, leaving children with a deeper awareness of healthy living rooted in Ayurveda.

The initiative was not just about donations, but about instilling values of empathy and responsibility, especially among children, by involving them in the process of giving. The collected items were thoughtfully distributed among the needy, bringing joy and support to many families. This initiative helped children understand the importance of seva (selfless service) and the impact of small acts of kindness. Through this experience, they learned that celebrations become truly meaningful when shared with others, reinforcing Tatva’s commitment to nurturing not just knowledge, but also strong values and compassionate individuals.
